Hello. Another couple of months have passed. We must therefore reconcile ourselves to the fact that the time is nigh for another Pisco Presents. Gird your loins. Entertainments. Distractions. Cardboard. Flashing lights. Most of all, music. Last time there was a Sugar Rush, and the combined forces of Repomen, Dr Robeatnik and Cats:For:Peru absolutely smashed it. The programme of events this time is entitled ‘A Date With Fate’ and will feature some superb bands, and distractions based on the twin themes of superstition and fate.
Suspending their belief in the rational will be…
Pisco Sour Hour
Back from paternity leave, Andy and Pete Pisco return to complete the quadrumvirate that is Pisco Sour Hour. Expect misdirection, table rapping and much convulsing. Will be breaking mirrors while standing under ladders.

The Unfortunate Incident
Sheffield’s own rock/country/punk/folk Frankenstein’s monster join the fray to show just why they are gaining a reputation for being a hot live act with a penchant for banging out intelligent, hooky tunes. Intend on opening umbrellas indoors with no fear of the dreadful consequences.

Electric Tape Recorder
‘The Legend’ Everett True put it better than I can when he ventured forth the opinion that “they are genius: humorous, full of broken metaphors and salvaged instruments, mangled hearts and dead pixels. The blues, as practiced by the children of Bukowski, Captain Beefheart and Jeffrey Lewis. Whoa! We don’t wan’t to imagine that parentage again!”. Walking on all the cracks with no thought of the repercussions.

The Grapes, Friday 27th August. £3.50 on the door.
… but we have been on hiatus.
We’re slowly stirring and will be returning at the end of the month like a bleary eyed, benign, recently defrosted mammoth.
More details will appear here in a week or so.

Back for more, PSH present another night of top notch entertainment and distractions. The programme of events is entitled ‘Safari’ and will feature bands and the distractions of the wild. It will take place at the popular watering hole known as ‘The Grapes’.
This will be an extra special one – it will be the last Pisco gig for a while, as Andy and Pete will both be taking some time off to tend to their forthcoming first born offspring. Exciting times! Pisco Presents will continue in May as an event in the meantime, with the usual array of quality guests. Anyway! Onwards – this is what we have for you in March:
Pisco Sour Hour
Like a troop of angry baboons that have learned to crudely manipulate tools, Pisco return to bash out some more tales of The Spirit World, Arizona and high ranking military officials losing their rag with their effete charges. As Phil Spector once wrote – ‘To know know know Pisco, is to love love love Pisco’. Super.

Flamingo Love Parade
These practioners of theatrical jazz fusion seek a receptive audience for fun times and cuddles. With a flagrant disregard for convention in both songwriting and fashion, Flamingo Love Parade fizz with a mixture of fusion, psychaedelia, soul and hip-hop. Mental.

Caaave
Afficiandos of bad tempered synth pop that runs across the spectrum of human experience, from street fights to vegan soup, will have come to the right place. Bang on.
Friday 19th March. The Grapes. Doors £3.50. See you there. X
John Hobson took some excellent pics of the last Pisco Presents. Images below…
The next one will be Pisco Presents…Safari! Poster and further details coming soon
Food of the Future…Microcarrots

Back once again, PSH present another night of top notch entertainment and distractions. This one is entitled ‘World Of Tomorrow’ – and we invite you to journey with us as we venture into a new decade and wonder at the amazing developments that the future holds – today! Enjoy quality sounds and peruse the Pisco Travelling Exhibition of Future Technology. Plus other distractions!
Sergeant Buzfuz
We are very pleased to welcome the very excellent Sergeant Buzfuz. As well as running the London based Blang! night and label, they also find the time to produce a stunning and unpigeonholeable* brew of folk, psychedelia and pop, augmented with literate and intelligent lyrics. Not to be missed. You can hear their most recent album, ‘High Slang’, on Spotify. It is rather good- listen to High Slang on Spotify
“Buzfuz are a bloody riot” ( Plan B )
“Absolutely brilliant” (Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music)
String-haunted modern urban angst, like Nick Cave on the doleto paraphrase Art Brut: Sergeant Buzfuz – TOP OF THE POPS! (SoundsXP.com)

Pisco Sour Hour
Awkward, twisted, wonky, poppy tunes covering important ground such as the Wikipedia glossary of wrestling terms, the pros and cons of tracking down an old school yard crush in Eastern Europe, terrifying altercations with representatives of the spirit world and more. Playing a few tunes off our forthcoming disc.

The Great Escape Artists
Supertight, boisterous seventies tinged rifferama and glam racket
http://www.myspace.com/thegreatescapeartists1
